Our Story
The Isah Umar Foundation was founded with one powerful belief — that basketball is more than a game. It is a classroom, a community, and a catalyst for change. Growing up witnessing the untapped potential of less privileged youth, our founder Isah Umar saw how sport could unlock discipline, confidence, and hope in young people who had been overlooked by the system.
What began as informal court sessions in local neighborhoods has grown into a structured foundation serving hundreds of youth across Nigeria. Today, we run year-round programs, mentorship initiatives, and community events — all centered on the transformative power of basketball.

"I started this foundation because I believe in the young people others have given up on. Basketball gave me focus. I want to give that same gift to every child who needs it."
Isah Umar is a community leader, youth advocate, and lifelong basketball enthusiast. With over a decade of experience in youth development, he has dedicated his life to creating pathways for less privileged children to discover their potential through sport.
